BB4 1/9th Belle of the Nile £25.95

The Belle of the Nile is an ancient Egyptian princess inspired by the decorative bronze sculptures of the 19th century. The white linen tunic worn over the left shoulder, leaving the right breast bare is typical of the fashion during the New Kingdom (1580 –332 B.C.) as is the wig of plaited wool adorned with buttons of gold. Flowers and perfumes were very important to the ancient Egyptians. The headband, earrings and large collar display the floral theme so prevalent in Egyptian art, as is the blue lotus which was frequently represented in mural paintings.
