MW-03 1/9th The King's Musketeer France 1650 £32.65
'Officially known as the Company of Musketeers on Horse serving as the Kingıs Ordinary Guardı, this elite corps was founded in 1622 by Louis XIII, King of France and went on to serve under three subsequent reigns until finally disbanded in 1789 at the advent of the Republic. Their original uniform, a sky-blue tunic emblazoned with the white French crossı, was a symbol of dashing valiance and unwavering loyalty and later contributed to the image of the Ultimate Swashbuckler as defined by Alexandre Dumas in his classic novel The Three Musketeersı. His weapon, a French wheel-lock pistol with the characteristic long barrel, is typical of mounted troops.'
