X0-05 120mm The Cavalier 1640 £34.35
Known as ‘cavalieros’ in Spain and ‘cavaliers’ in France and England, these members of the European gentry were the successors of the medieval knight and formed the mounted elite of the 17th-century ‘modern’ armies. These dashing and colourful characters fought in the Thirty Years’ War, at the battle of Rocroi, and later in the English Civil War. The 15-part resin figure depicts the Cavalier in the universal 17th-cent. dress of ‘leather, lace and lovelocks’. It may be painted to represent a combatant in any European army.
