The Frog: The Common European Frog (Rana temporaria) is what you would normally find in most European countries and even parts of Asia. Also known as European Brown or Grass Frog and will be in and around rivers, ponds and lakes. The flanks, limbs and backs are covered with irregular dark patches, with a dark spot directly behind the eyes. The eyes are a light brown (sometimes a brown-yellow) with darker black horizontal pupils. The underside of body is much lighter and is often an off-white, light-yellow or light-green. The skin colour can vary from olive green to brown grey or even yellow and they can lighten and darken the shade to match their surroundings.

The Common European Frog belongs to a large group of amphibians, with many different types within this family. I would suggest an online search for the appropriate colouring to match the base stones. Casting webs have been placed under frog’s body and between legs. These can be removed before painting.
